Hey, horror fans. I’m excited! This is looking like an excellent weekend to get out there and go to the movies.

Super 8

In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.

After months of viral marketing and speculation, the hotly anticipated retro sci-fi thriller from J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg hits theaters today. And the reviews are good. Very good. Do I need to tell you to go see this? Go see this. Making predictions is tricky, but…if you ask me, this is THE summer blockbuster to see on the big screen this year.  http://www.super8-movie.com/

Troll Hunter

Shot in a vérité style, TROLLHUNTER is the story of a group of Norwegian film students that set out to capture real-life trolls on camera after learning their existence has been covered up for years by a government conspiracy. A thrilling and wildly entertaining film, TROLLHUNTER delivers truly fantastic images of giant trolls wreaking havoc on the countryside, with darkly funny adherence to the original Norwegian folklore.

Troll Hunter starts a limited theater release today. Starting in NY, the film is scheduled to travel to screens across the country throughout this summer. Here’s more information on the locations and playdates. And if you want to know what we think about Troll Hunter, check out our review!    http://www.trollhunterfilm.com/
