In Theaters Today: Attack the Block

Hey, readers, I have good news and bad news. The good news? The hotly anticipated alien invasion flick, Attack the Block, hits limited theaters today! The bad news is that the limited release is super limited. Check out a theater list here. Looks like FGSG will have to wait a little longer on this one. Boo.

Attack the Block

From the producers of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, ATTACK THE BLOCK follows a gang of tough inner-city kids who try to defend their turf against an invasion of savage alien creatures, turning a South London apartment complex into an extraterrestrial warzone.

I’m all over this, but let’s hear from my main monstergirl:

StayFrosty: John Carpenter made many incredible films.  Maybe this is the one he should have made instead of The Ward. (sorry John, I still love you!)

Inner City vs. Outer Space – this premise might sound crazy, but from all accounts it works.  I can’t wait to see how this movie plays out.  Apparently it’s something like Escape from New York + Assault on Precinct 13 + hooligans = this movie. If that isn’t an irresistible equation, I don’t know what is.  Nick Frost’s hippie wig isn’t the best decision, but that can be overlooked. If this lives up to its preview, it should be a hell of a ride.     Attack the Block on FaceBook     Attack the Block on IMDB
